5 unexpected places to add holiday decor

Sure, you put a tree up in the living room and strung some lights on the roof. Bravo! But if you’re looking to be just a little extra festive this year, I’ve got some ideas for you. This is the very first year that I have put decorations in every. single. room. of the house. Every room! It might sound a little overboard, but I promise you, a small piece of Christmas cheer can go a long way to make a space feel merry and bright! Here’s a few of my favorite, unexpected, less traditional places I’ve decorated this year for the holidays.

1. over the kitchen sink

We spend SO much time at the kitchen sink, why not make it a little more merry?

2. the bedroom

Not every room has to be a complete Whoville transformation, but there’s something magical about adding even just a small tree with twinkle lights to a bedroom.

3. the hallway

A small sign that compliments existing decor feels fun and classic in a space that doesn’t always get a lot of attention.

4. the backyard

The front yard gets all the love, but don’t let the backyard feel left out! Another place where a little tree goes a long way.

5. the bathroom

Swap a towel and a bath mat and you’ve got yourself a full holiday transformation! If you’re feeling real crazy go ahead and top it off with some peppermint hand soap and a spruce candle.
